this was samuel

the only difference?
he eats absolutely no gluten.
samuel has celiac disease.
he eats no gluten
not by choice
but for his life
and now he is thriving
laughing
growing
life without gluten is challenging
there are moments where he's mad
and i mourn for him
then i remember
i remember how he was six months ago
and i rejoice.

Wow!! What a difference... Samuel looks so healthy... Thank God for your diagnosis... what a journey its been. I have a few questions... with 5 children, do you all eat gluten free or do you prepare meals/foods for Samuel separately? If Samuel eats gluten will he be sick immediately and require medical attention? I pray for this little cutie regularly!

So glad he is healthy! My whole family just went on a no gluten, no dairy and no sugar diet because my sister and my dad have high cholesterol. It is only for about 6 months, though.
oh the january picture kills me...so thankful for the life difference! and by the way, praying for that shoulder :)
Wow what a difference. He is gorgeous. Thank the lord they were able to diagnosis him. What were his symptoms and did he exhibit them from birth?

he it so good to see pictures of your baby boy thriving. one day i'm going to give him a great big hug. and until then, you'll have to do it for me. : ) any and every time i see "gluten free" i immediately think of him and you.

What a darlin' little boy! His eyes are so blue they're almost transparent. He's incredibly handsome.
It's difficult to believe the difference in a matter of months and a change in diet. It thrills my heart, as a mother especially, that he has made such amazing progress!

I read your story, and I know you commented on my post the other day about my daughter. There are so many similiar things about our stories. I read about Celiac first and thought there is no way it could be a possibility, but after reading your story I started wondering. We should get our results early this week, and depending on what they are....I may have lots of questions!

We are gluten free as well, but for different reasons. It is a lifestyle change! Glad you have found something that works for him. :)
I know it's really hard and infiltrates all parts of your life, but I am so happy that there is at least a way for him to live a thriving healthy life, even if its not easy. May God continue to smile on Samuel!
