Last night as I tucked my Elijah, after a challenging five year old day, into his bed I told him a little story about a mom who tells his little boy she loves him on the bad days and the good days and that she's so proud to be his mom on any of the days no matter what forever and ever.
I was talking to him telling him a story but really sharing my heart.
And as tears rolled down my weary eyes I realized how much I love being a mom. On all the days. And I realized how grateful I am to have this space to write about the bad days and the good days of motherhood. And to be a voice of encouragement in what sometimes can be a challenging world.
So today, today I am being grateful for the little things. I'm sharing with you things that matter to me and hope that they bless you and ultimately encourage you to find the joy moments tucked within your everyday. Peek for them - look for them - they're there.
My favorite and grateful moments tucked into motherhood day.

this picture
from a couple weeks ago
but I just discovered
is one of my favorites ever
It is of my sister, Abby, holding my Samuel.
I love that my family loves my kids so dearly.
That is a blessing that I almost cannot put into words.
morning faces
shared by little ones with me
who beg for just a teeny sip of my coffee
and sit on the couch all groggy
waiting till the moment when they'll decide
to get all wild and running and busy.
our old swingswet
which we so need to replace
{but oh my they are so expensive}
but I am absolutely grateful for the
hours and hours and hours and hours
of play and swinging that we've gotten out of it.
my front door
and how it matches perfectly with the fall
and I just cannot get over these sweet pictures
of my wonderful Samuel
wandering around in his pjs.
Love them.
that funny tuft of hair
on the back of Samuel's head
that never ever ever ever
{even with hair gel}
sits down flat.
these posts
one by my friend Jenn about homeschooling
and one by my friend Krystle who is giving away beautiful
Legacy Bracelet made by my friend Amy
the picture below {almost 2yrs old} is of me wearing mine.
my table with sorted colored pencils
with my kids
my wonderful gift from God to me family
and learning all around
makes me grateful.
the piano
sitting in my living room
that is very rarely quiet
{and in need of a tune}
yet fills our home with much needed music
and gives me a place to play my music.
my Grace
who asks me every morning before we start academics
to play one quick card game
and I almost always tell her yes.
Those moments matter.
and finally
this print
{that my Hannah made}
{that my Hannah made}
that I'm sharing with you again
but it is a beautiful reminder
to show love
right now
to those in your own home.

Blessings on your Friday!

So true, it's those little moments the world seems to desire...to shut out. It's those moments when we realize, others - especially our children and friends need to know we love them through thick and thin...good and bad....we are never all good, we are born with heart full of sin...only covered by the grace of God - we share that through loving others through the ugly.... beautiful...I love these moments with my own children....
This is so beautiful. Love your words/sentiment/story! Adore this post x
My youngest, also a Samuel, has two tufts that won't lay flat. they are each on a side of his head. He has embraced them, stating that he looks like Wolverine. I no longer even want to comb them! lol

Thank you once again for posting. Your blog is my favorite one to read for two reasons: 1, it keeps me looking for and appreciating those little moments; and, 2, you post every day! Not many people do, and I really have started looking forward to reading it every day. (an example, I'm reading this while laying in bed with the flu! LOL)
