a vacation wordless wednesday

We've been so busy.

Fishing.
Swimming.
Playing cards.
Eating {too much}.
Laughing.
Reading.
Walking.

Living.

Here are just a few things we've been doing.

{sitting at the beach}

{and riding the boat at dusk}

{or playing cards at noon}

{and having grandpa teach you how to fish}

{or bravely wearing the glowstick hat for fireworks}

{and finally, sitting and enjoying my beautiful view right now. love.}

It's been a really great vacation.

If only I could bottle time.

Which of these pics is your fave?

{all the pics today are taken with my camera phone}

that mustache man

{I just had to post one more picture of my Elijah and his mustache.}

On Sunday I made a quick run to the grocery store -- for what? I have no idea. I do, however, clearly remember walking back into my home. As soon I opened the front door I was greeted by Todd and Elijah. Waiting. I could hear the amusement in Todd's voice as he told Elijah to look up at me - and as soon as I saw that black marker smeared above his lips I started to laugh. That's my boy. Mustache Man.

Then my laughing turned to quick parental worry as I wondered if he found the permanent marker. That I keep on top of the fridge. Because we've had disasters with permanent markers. Like black ink all over my main level floors. Or on the whitebeadboard paneling in the family room. So now, I try to hide them. Very, very well.

Thankfully, Mister Elijah's marker mustache was made with just plain ol'Crayola markers.

And that permanent one? Even further hidden.

And thankfully, he didn't decide to draw on those floors again.

Or add a mustache to his little brother....

Sigh. Almost four year olds. :)

He really does make me smile.

Grisi

Remember how I took the pictures for the ballet recital? Well, the local paper was released and with that were some of the pictures {the rest are in the editing stages}. I thought I'd share this one of my Hannah dancing the Pas de Quatre. Makes all those hours and hours of practice and driving worth it. :)

Hannah was Grisi

Lovely Photo - Wordless or Not-So-Wordless Wednesday at Aspire

I stole a photo...

...from my daughter, Hannah, from Aspire.  Who is also, by the way, the creator of the newest wordless/full Wednesday meme.  (love that girl)

Stolen photo?  Why?

Well --- I'm on her computer.  So I perused her fabulous photos and found this new fave of mine (what in the world were we doing?)  Hee hee hee.  Yep, that's Hannah and me.  With our hair held up by nothing.  Well, at least Hannah's  -- I had a bindy in mine (I was trying to copy her -- she is cool, you know!  Again, and yes, you know it, I love that girl.)

(okay, okay, okay -- she gave me permission to use it
probably because her hair looks cool and mine looks weird
and, yes, we love to play with the web cam.)

So LINK UP!  (that's an order!)

Click the button and join in on the NEWEST Wednesday craze.  Make this momma proud.

and, of course, I joined in with my midwest blogging buddy, alicia, for wordless wednesday. She did start me on this Wednesday craze -- we've got her to thank!!

Wordless Wednesday -- scratch that -- Word Wednesday

Yep.  That's what the loaded truck looks like when we go to the lake.  Remember -- a week and a half ago when I described it via Miscellany Monday?  This picture was taken about an hour before we left.  Crazy.  (that's my cute Grace just waiting to leave)

Thanks to my daughter, Hannah (who was riding with my sister in the protocol behind the truck space), she took a picture of the truck and trailer as we were moving.  Or supposed to be moving.  Note the stopped vehicles.  Road construction.  In Minnesota.  Over the holiday weekend.  True?  You betcha. (that's a Minnesota classic phrase -- imagine if you could hear me in real like.  Ya, know....Minnesooooota)

And, yes, that's the loaded trailer sitting by my parents cabin.  Waiting.  Waiting for me to spend 20 minutes trying to untie the yellow twine I used to secure all those bikes, and noodles (fail), and stroller, and kayak, and  lawn chairs, and fishing poles, and fans.  Wow.  We bring a ton for one week.  So -- here's the deal -- if you are ever in Minnesota and see a vehicle racing down the highway and a crazy mom driving  -- might as well wave.  Chances are it will be me. Especially if I have a latte from Caribou in my hand. :)

Wordless Wednesday - my surprise pic

I'm linking up to my blogging pal, Alicia's Wordless Wednesday thread -- (And yes, I know it's Tuesday -- I'm just early --- hee hee he) because, let's face it, even those who can talk (or write) with abundance have those days when the picture is all that's needed.

Look what picture I found when I was downloading pictures from an SD card today.
